IBM QS20 — Fedora upgrade

Ok so the upgrade path from Fedora 7 was not working out as planned.

So let’s try net-boot a newer version of Fedora.
I found out that the QS20 seems a limit of how big a net-boot image can be. So far anything over 15mb has not worked for me.
All of Fedora’s net-boot images past Fedora 9 are over 20mb and none of them seem to work.
Fedora 9 netboot’s fine.
You can get the ppc64.img netboot image here
You can get the DVD install ISO hear

Follow the exact same steps as outlined in the Fedora 7 install guide on this site

You can now follow the standard Fedora upgrade procedure to get to a more updated version.
